What We do

The work in our lab focuses on the structure of soil and streams and the role of microorganisms in driving ecosystem function. It involves molecular biology, biogeochemistry, and computational approaches to address our questions. Our research is directed by a need to not only answer basic questions related to anthropogenic change effects on microbial ecology, but also understand how microbes inform conservation and management of the freshwater - soil continuum.
