MEGAN SCHILL
Graduate Research Assistant
M.S. ESE Student
Megan is a lover of soil science and microbial ecology. Her thesis project addresses microbial nutrient scavenging after wildfires in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.

FABIOLA ESTRADA DIAZ FLORES
Graduate Research Assistant
M.S. ESE Student
Fabiola is interested in water quality and microbial ecology of freshwaters. She will be studying wastewater pollution effects on the link between microbial structure and function.

DAVID ROBERTS
Graduate Research Assistant
M.S. ESE student
David is interested in soil and freshwater microbial ecology. His project looks at the effects of infiltration berms on microbial communities and water retention in the Texas Hill Country.

ISABELLA RIZZO
M.S. ESE student
Isabella studies how prescribed burn and its severity influence the succession of soil nitrifiers in grasslands and oak forests in south Texas. She has a strong interest in how microbiology can be applied to solve environmental issues.

CATERINA BEVERATI
Lab Technician
Caterina is an undergraduate researcher studying water chemistry and nutrient effects on stream biofilms.

MARIO DE JESUS
Undergraduate Researcher
Mario is an undergraduate student who is synthesizing sequence data to understand urban stream microbial bacterial dynamics.

NATALIA ESTRADA
Undergraduate Researcher
Natalia was a Ronald E. McNairs Scholar during summer 2021. She studied how pollution legacy of streams impacts antibiotic resistance in microbial communities.
